The distribution process for the Small-Scale Poultry Farms for Deprived Families project has started in Saidkhel District, Parwan Province. This initiative, designed to support vulnerable families, is being funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) under the NGOs/CSOs Capacity Support Program (NCCSP) and executed in collaboration with the National Organization of Initiative and Action (NOIA). The project aims to improve food security, boost livelihoods, and promote sustainable agricultural practices in rural communities.
Under this project, 100 needy families in Saidkhel District will receive essential resources to establish and manage small-scale poultry farms. Each family is provided with a comprehensive poultry package, including:
- 22 Hens
- 4 Roosters
These packages are intended to equip families with the necessary tools to create a sustainable source of food and income through poultry farming. The initial distribution of feed, fence, water and feed buckets, and multivitamins has already been completed.
The distribution process was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Muneebullah Safi, Director of NOIA, along with representatives from local government and agricultural authorities. Key attendees included Mr. Maulvi Niaz Mohammad Tayeb, Deputy Director of Agriculture and Livestock for Parwan Province; Dr. Arif Aqeel, Director of the Animal Health Department of Parwan; Mr. Mir Hamza, Deputy Governor of Saidkhel District; Mr. Abdul Kabir; and Mr. Nowroz, representing the district’s Agriculture Department. Their presence and oversight ensured the process was conducted smoothly and transparently.
